Petra Pictures

Here are some pictures of Petra. I took about 185 pictures in 2 days. I spent the first day in Petra and the next morning as well while in the afternoon I went to Shawback Castle and Little Petra.

Petra prices as lower than they were in the past and they are respectively 11/13.5/16JD for 1/2/3 days. Two days is more than enough except if you are an 80 year old asthmatic. With careful planning you can do Petra well in one day and take your time.

I was sleeping in the Valentine Inn hotel for 3JD/night in dorms (4 beds, I was the only one). You might be able to sleep on the roof for 1JD (bring your warm sleeping bag it is cold at night sometimes !)

Breakfast is 2JD, Petra lunch box 2JD and Buffet dinner is 3JD. You might find it more interesting to go to the restaurants down the street (very good one and friendly people at the corner of the roundabout) or buy some food from supermarket and mechanical bakery.

The hotel arrange free transportation to and from Petra, though it is a 15min walk.

Little Petra and Shawback castle offer as of now little value compared to Petra itself and if you are short on budget you might skip them with peace of mind.

For your information 1$ = 0.7JD so the JD is an extremely strong currency !
