Climbing Mount Kenya

I should leave by wednesday to climb Mount Kenya. Nothing was planned but I'm just taking the opportunity. I spent the afternoon getting some gear around the Nairobi open market to avoid suffering from cold and rain.

Mainly the trip should last about 5 days. I will take the Siramon route to climb to the top which is about 4985m. That is, if I make it to the top and I'm not subject to altitude sickness or anything else.
Roughly the plan is:
Day 1: Departure from Nairobi at 7:30AM, acclimatization walk (3-5h) to Old Moses Camp (3400m)
Day 2: We walk from Old Moses Camp to Shipton’s Camp (6-8h). Night at Shipton's Camp (4200m)
Day 3: Departure to Point Lenana around 3AM in order to see the sunrise
(Yes, we will be hiking at night) and down to Mackinder's Camp (4300m)
Day 4: Mackinder's Camp to Meteorological Station (3048m)
Day 5: Meteorological Station to Exit Gate and back to Nairobi around 2PM.

I'm eating a fish barbecue tonight at Nairobi backpackers along with some Nairobi residents.
