Dar Es Salaam

I'm on my way to Nairobi. I took the ferry fron Stonetown to Dar Es Salaam at 1:30PM and ended up staying at the Safari Inn (7800Tsh single, 13200TSh double). After eating for about $1 a day in Stonetown for about a week due to Barclays Bank UK declining my VISA card for some day and preventing me to get any cash (For the record, as of now there is no ATM in Zanzibar so the only way is to use the cash advance service of Coastal Travels) I decided to treat myself and eat to in a luxury hotel. I wanted to eat real nice food (I am French, right ?)

I ended up at the Royal Palm Hotel and more exactly the buffet at the Serengeti restaurant ($20). This was 'Indian Night' and the buffet was simply AWESOME ! and we really ate well and I did my best to try all the interesting desserts (That's what I'm probably missing the most).

I said 'we' because I was eating there with a charming american woman called Hope that I met in Nungwi thanks to Saskia. It was very nice to talk to her for the last days in Zanzibar and Dar Es Salaam as Hope is working at the International Rescue Committee IRC in Burundi and she has been working in Cameroon as well so we had many things to talk about and she reminded me many souvenirs from Burundi (for the casual reader I have been living in Cameroon from 80 to 84 and 89 to 91 and Burundi from 84 to 89, that is, I grew up there).
