I managed to leave East Africa and I'm now in Lusaka, Zambia. I left all the rainfall of the rainy season in Kenya and I'm in the early beginning of the dry season here. I arrived around 12PM and after paying the visa fee ($25) and taking a taxi ($15) I'm staying at Chachacha Backpackers ($6).

The official currency here is the Kwacha and as of now 1$ = 4800ZMK so needless to say that you find yourself quickly with a wheelbarrow of bank notes.

I already booked my bus for tomorrow morning (7:00AM) at CR Holdings, bus station close to Cairo Rd (behind Shoprite supermarket). I will go to Livingstone for a mere 45000ZMK ($10) and it should take me about 5 hours. (bus again and again...)

It looks like there is nothing special to do from Lusaka except a safari in the Low Zambezi River (4 days - 3 night $350). So I'd better go to Livingstone and look calmly at what can be done around, especially as the Safari is leaving on May 12.
