Tirtagganga and Tenganan

I took a bemo from Padang Bai to Amlapura (8000RP) followed by a rip-off ride to Abibi (5000RP) to see a magnificent view with rice terraces. The Royal Pool/Water Palace in Tirtagganga was a bit disappointing especially as I missed the 'swimming pool' but I did not go there to swim anyway. I then walked a bit from Tirtagganga to the beginning of Amlapura and jumped into another bemo where the driver tried to overcharge me with 2000RP. Sorry guy, no way I can be ripped off twice in a row, 1000RP is way enough for this ride. I then took another bemo to Candi Dasa (4000RP) which is nothing but a disappointing town.

I jumped from the bemo at the Tenganan section and took an ojek (motorcycle) for 2000RP after they tried to charge me 10000RP and 5000RP for respectively a car ride and an ojek ride. Pretty expensive for a 3km section !

At Tenganan, we have to sign a 'guestbook' and supposedly leave a donation for the village. I'm asking the guy if the money really goes to the village and it makes him laugh. Ok, I leave the case blank and will see what it is worth.

Going inside was just a succession of shops selling various crafts, silks, etc... So the case remained blank when I left a few minutes later. Sorry.

When leaving an ojek asks me again 5000RP to go back to the main road. No sorry, I paid 2000 to come that will be 2000 again He seems surprised that I paid this price but nonetheless he accepts immediately which means that it could get lower than that... During the ride he asks me how much I paid to go from Padang Bai to Candi Dasa and I tell him 4000RP. It took almost 30 seconds before he tells me I drive you to Padang Bai, 15000RP ok ?. Wow indeed this is a very interesting price !! Thank you I will take the bemo !

I jump into one a few minutes later and I check discretely how much locals pay with the distance. This is hard to see since most of the time the bank notes are completely rolled. I can though identify one girl leaving 1000RP for a few minutes ride and a quick estimation makes me think that I do 3 times the distance. When jumping from the bus I leave 3000RP and the driver does not say anything, so the estimation was rather good.

For the record, the tourist normally pays 10000RP for this ride.
