I decided this morning to join a Whale watch tours with Naturaliste Watchers (A$45) in Dunsborough (between Busselton and Margaret River). Once I arrived in the car park, I was coincidently joined by Karl, the german yoga teacher I met in Bunburry and we all jumped on the boat. We have been able to see a few humbpack whales around Cape Naturaliste, but nothing extraordinary. A couple of tail flapping (I missed all the shots and I will be better off with a 300mm anyway) but nothing really awesome.
While on the boat, I bumped into a pretty attractive canadian woman named Karen who happens to be an optometrist around Western Australia. Basically she's been in Australia for about 3 months and she just move every few weeks to different places to help local shops about eyes exams. Before that she spent a year and a half teaching optometry in New Zealand.
For the little story, she thought once again I was German, Dutch or whatever close to that and that I was making it up telling her I was French (had to speak French to prove my point). It might be understandable as I made her believe slightly before that she missed the whales breaching while she was looking on the other side of the boat and missed a few tail flapping
As the tour ended around 1PM we then all went to visit the Ngilgi cave, a few kilometers south of Dunsborough. Ngilgi Cave is named because of its association with a rich Aboriginal legend describing the battle between a good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil spirit (Wolgine).
It has been discovered in 1899 and it offers a absolutely stunning display of stalactite, stalagmite, helicitite and shawl formations. It was beyond the expectations of the three of us.
After that I did a quick drive to Augusta located about 50km south of Margaret River and I'm now staying at Baywatch Manor Resort YHA.
