Poor Knights #2

Poor Knights diving again. After the photographic disaster of yesterday, that was mandatory. I buddied up with Richard equipped with a dry-suit. And we did our own thing. We are both lazy divers and like to inspect every square centimeter of rock, so that was perfect. Sea conditions were pretty flat, visibility around 20m, 16C and like yesterday, full of salps.

I asked for a tighter 7mm wet-suit and that was a dramatic change. I was cold, but not as cold as yesterday as I did not have water flowing all inside to drain all my body heat.

I somewhat wanted to take a shot of a stingray flying by over me but could not find any cooperative enough. Usual marine life: clown, gem and tambja nudibranchs, blennie, triple-fin, leather-jacket, moray eel, stingrays, salps, salps and salps.

Another boat was able to see apparently a school of sunfish in the area. On the way to the islands we came across a big pod of bottlenose dolphins and a few whales were of a distance.

Again the dive center has been extermely accommodating. They spend time with every diver on the boat jauging what they feel like doing, their experience, etc... and try to team people the best they can based on that. They proposed Richard and I to drop us off with the tender on a pinnacle a distance from the anchor point so that we could do something different.

I have seen my fair bit of dive centers these last months and I wish there were more places like this.

Stephane--

Great shots bro! I suppose I'll have to download a few so friends and family back home can really see what we saw down there (since um, my shots don't really do it justice.) If you don't mind I'll post your URL on the travelpackers site where we journal our stuff.

Hope you still manage to squeeze off your trip to the bahamas. if you want the location of where we post it lemmie know...Oh, and Eranie & I can relate to your LAX experience; terribly run aeroport.

K.
