I arrived in Zanzibar yesterday after spending the night in Dar Es Salaam. I arrived from Tanga earlier than expected as it took us only 4h15 rather than the 5h30 expected. Which means that of course we were driving -very- fast and that you’d better not look too much in front of you if you don’t want to have an heart attack.

I finally decided to leave to Dar Es Salaam. I will leave in about 2 hours (12:30PM) from Tanga by bus (5h30, 4500TSh). I will spend the night there in order to get some cash for Zanzibar and go to British Airways to delay my flights. As this is a small world, I have just received a mail from Roger and Cheryl (Australians I met in Nairobi, we spent a day in Mount Kenya together) that tell me they are right now in Zanzibar.

I arrived in Tanga saturday around 1PM and found my way to where Wies and Saskia were staying. We went on the beach on the afternoon (sorry guys, no pictures
) and spent the evening at the local swimming club restaurant (good and cheap food !). Overall, Tanzania is cheaper than Kenya for many things (for the records, roughly 1KSh = 13Tsh or $1 = 1000TSh).

I left this morning from Diani to Mombasa along with two danish girls on their way back to Nairobi. On their advices I went to an hotel they recommended to me to spend the night in Mombasa…and oh boy, what a shithole !

Day off today, so I decided to take pictures of the monkey that keep getting around me very close. He is far from being afraid and the bastard even tried one time to steal me my bread when I was eating. He was looking at me from the tree just above my table when he decided to jump on it and get away with my bread. Too bad for him I was faster.
He does not have to complain though as I have been feeding him with bananas (but he managed to steal me an avocado anyway and obviouslly he loved it)
