Book – The Trouble With Africa: Why Foreign Aid Isn’t Working
I finally managed to read the book I ordered 2 months ago – The Trouble With Africa: Why Foreign Aid Isn’t Working. I took advantage of sitting for 8h on a KLM MD-11 with miserable flight entertainment to go through it and that was a relatively enjoyable read that I can fairly recommend to Third-Culture-Kids, ex-expats and people interested about this topic.
I could relate some of the content to my own convictions that I developed as a TCK, so I suspect some sections might be incomplete for the casual reader with little background while it may be more obvious with people who have been living in Africa.
The book ends with some recommendation that I find a bit light-hearted, but it is for sure that the current solution of spreading around money with the only benefit of funding the extravagant lifestyle of some presidents and ministers of the said countries is of little value.
